Hiểu thế nào khi Laptop của bạn ghi hỗ trợ WLAN 802.11b, 802.11g, 802.11b/g hoặc 8023.11n? Đó là các chuẩn định dạng cho mạng không dây hiện nay. Trên thị trường hiện nay có rất nhiều chuẩn nhưng duy nhất chỉ có 3 chuẩn hiện đang sử dụng chính.

• Chuẩn 802.11b: Chuẩn này rất ít được ứng dụng, trên lý thuyết tốc độ truyền dữ liệu chuẩn 802.11b là 11MBits/s, nhưng trong thực tế chỉ đạt được nửa số đó.
• Chuẩn 802.11g: Với tốc độ truyền dữ liệu là 54MBits/s. Hiện nay chuẩn này đang phát triển mạnh. Thiết bị chuẩn 802.11g tương thích với chuẩn 802.11b.
• Chuẩn 8023.11n: Chuẩn này đang được các nhà sản xuất PC và Laptop dần đưa vào làm chuẩn cho sản phẩm của mình, nhưng hiện tại vẫn trong giai đoạn phát triển. Trên lý thuyết tốc độ truyền dữ liệu của chuẩn này là 540Mbits/s

Cũng nên chú ý một điều: Nếu sử dụng các thiết bị cho mạng không dây, với điều kiện tất cả các thiết bị phần cứng phải tương thích với nhau, tức là cùng chuẩn chung, nếu không sẽ không kết nối được mạng, hoặc làm giảm cố ý tốc độ truyền. Ví dụ bạn đang sử dụng 802.11g mà phần cứng sử dụng với chuẩn 802.11b, đương nhiên tốc độ truyền dữ liệu của bạn còn là 11MBits/s chứ không phải 54MBits/s.

Mọi người có vẻ như nóng lòng chờ đợi phiên bản final Windows XP SP3 của Microsoft. Những tin đồn về bản chính thức được công bố vào thời gian nào vẫn chưa ấn định.

Như nanowings đăng bài về MS công bố phiên bản chính thức Windows XP SP3 ngày 24.03.2008. Cũng như mọi người chờ đợi và Windows XP SP3 vẫn biệt tăm, thêm vào đó là tin đồn phiên bản chính thức được công bố vào giữa năm 2008

Ngược lại hôm nay Microsoft công bố trên website của mình cho tải phiên bản cập nhật Windows XP SP3 RC2 mang Build số 5508 thay cho bản mang Build số 3311 công bố hôm 27.02.2008, chỉ 1 tháng sau đó.

If you are holding your breath while waiting for the final Windows XP Service Pack 3 to drop, you might as well expire and start breathing at a normal pace. Closing in on two months since Windows Vista SP1 and Windows Server 2008 were released to manufacturing, Microsoft is yet to go gold with the bits for the third and final service pack of Windows XP, despite indications that the finish line is on the immediate horizon. But while there is nothing new on the XP SP3 download front, items associated with the service pack, namely documentation, have been updated and re-released.The new published date for the Windows XP Service Pack 3 Overview is March 21, 2008, at the end of the past week. Microsoft has failed to pinpoint the changes to the documentation, if any. “Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) includes all previously released updates for the operating system. This update also includes a small number of new functionalities, which do not significantly change customers’ experience with the operating system. This white paper summarizes what is new in Windows XP SP3,” reads the description for the Windows XP Service Pack 3 Overview.

Available both as .pdf and .xps, the white paper offers a perspective over what XP SP3 contains, with references pointing to previously released functionality, as well as new and enhanced features, and the best way to deploy XP SP3. At a superficial glance, the new overview contains no additions or modification in comparison to the previously released documentation. Still, the alteration of the publishing date does indicate that Microsoft is moving the XP SP3 bits closer and closer to RTM, with no decisive word from the company as to when Service Pack 3 will go gold.

On March 6, 2008, Microsoft made re-released the RC2 build of XP SP3 initially made available in February. XP SP3 RC2 Build 3311 was followed by XP SP3 5503, a private build which was leaked to torrent trackers. Microsoft did confirm that XP SP3 5503 was an official test version of the service pack, but maintained that the final bits would be delivered by summer 2008.

Sau chuyến đi không định trước với mục đích săn hàng độc và rẻ ở ngày cuối cùng của hội chợ, nhưng thất vọng , không kiếm chác được gì trước khi giải tán, muốn mua hàng của mấy anh có máu mặt thì đặt ngay cái biển “TODAY NO SALE” ngật ngưỡng trước lều của mình, ngược lại lều của mấy anh tầu có vẻ đông đúc và nhộn nhịp hơn, bởi vì “TODAY SALE! Cebit 2008 năm nay chẳng có gì đặc biệt so với các năm trước tổ chức tại đây, các đại gia về IT như MS, Intel, AMD, Asus, Corsair…có vẻ như không mặn mà cho lắm với Cebit những năm gần đây.

Microsoft chơi ngay 1 sảnh ngay giữa trung tâm hội chợ, được quây bởi hàng rào dây security muốn vào đó lại phải trả tiền vé lần nữa, mà trước đó đã phải trả vé vào hội chợ.

AMD không giới thiệu hàng mà chơi ngay 1 lều đứng phát túi quảng cáo có in logo AMD và ATI Radeon miễn phí cho khách.

Intel có dựng mấy chiếc tủ quảng cáo chip mới, nhưng lại tập trung vào live game bằng màn hình to đại tướng trong khoang của mình….

Ngược lại các doanh nghiệp IT của tầu, Hongkong… chiếm đa số tấp nập hơn…mấy anh thương gia tranh thủ trao đổi visit card, khách muốn săn hàng rẻ cứ vào khu vực của tầu.

Từ tháng 7.2008 màn hình Desktop quen thuộc KDE của Linux sẽ chạy trên 2 hệ điều hành Mac và Windows. Phiên bản KDE mới nhất hiện nay là Version 4.0 ra lò đầu tháng 01.2008.

Theo kế hoạch thì KDE version 4.1 sẽ chạy được trên Windows từ tháng 7 năm nay.

Trong tương lai tất cả các chương trình chạy trên Linux sẽ chạy được trên Windows và Mac như KOffice, Trình duyệt web Konqueror…

Một tin tuyệt vời cho những fans hâm mộ KDE.

Windows Vista xuất hiện trên thị trường chưa đầy 1 năm, Redmonder giới thiệu phiên bản kế tục mang tên “Windows 7″. Version này được nhà phát triển của Microsoft – Eric Traut giới thiệu ở giảng đường trường Đại học University of Illinois vào ngày 13.10.2007.

Redmonder giới thiệu Windows 7 trên Microsoft Virtual PC 2007, tập trung vào chủ đề lõi của bản kế tục này và làm sao giảm nhẹ tối đa dung lượng, chỉ giữ lại những lõi cơ bản của Hệ điều hành và tốn dung lượng ổ đĩa cứng khoảng 25MB, RAM khoảng 40MB để Windows có thể chạy với hệ điều hành này.

Việc lược bỏ lõi này được Redmonder gọi là MinWin và cho rằng việc áp dụng của Minwin không chỉ ở Windows 7 mà còn trên Server system cũng như Tablet PCs và các thiết bị Mobil khác.

Phiên bản Windows 7 dự định ra lò vào năm 2010, nhiều chuyên gia về Windows cho rằng sẽ có nhiều thay đổi về giao diện giống như việc thay đổi giao diện của Microsoft Office 2007.

Ngày hôm nay, mình thấy xuất hiện trên mạng -Thinknext.com – Screenshots và Video đầu tiên của Windows 7, đăng lên mọi người cùng xem bản Windows 7 như thế nào. Version này mang Build 6519.Winmain.071220-1525 và được compiled vào ngày 20.12.2007. Thinknext.com tổng hợp milestone đầu tiên này và nói rằng bản thử có thể xuất hiện vào quý 3, 2008.

Over the weekend I finally managed to play with the build…. but disappointed.

One my primary machine, it asked for my SATA driver (never happened when installing Vista, as my drives were set as IDE in BIOS). After adding the driver from my USB thumb drive it would finally install. It didn’t boot after first restart, however.

On my laptop it installed perfectly, but with no driver support for the video card. After numerous tries I gave up in the end, so Aero is now left in the dark.

Oh well, so there’s nothing to show.

The build is 6.1.6519.

The GUI, as much of you have guessed, is very much like Vista. I don’t know if once the right video card driver is in place whether there will be flashy stuffs to surprise me. The system is very responsive, using barely 480MB of memory after boot.

Gadgets are now integrated into explorer. You can right click on desktop and select “Add Gadget” or “Hide Gadget”. There is a new gadget called “Windows Media Center” that displays now playing information from the WMC. On the same menu, “Display” is added above “Personalization” which gives you direct access to display DPI settings. The page is much more polished than the one in Vista.

The start menu features a pin besides each item. Clicking on it toggles pinning/unpinning the item. Search in explorer is now states where you search within (usually being within the folder, as in Vista). You can now, however, adjust the size of the search box.

XAML fonts, called the “Composite Fonts” are now added to the font folder. Perhaps WPF will be much more prominent in this release. It’s disappointing that I don’t have Aero running, or otherwise there might be some interesting stuffs to see.

A new application is added, dubbed the “XPS Viewer”, no surprises, either.

Then finally, something interesting came up: the feedback tool. The feedback tool lists the “pillars” of Win 7. You can see that Microsoft is aiming to fine tune this release as the case in XP rather than technological advancement as in 2K. highlights include”network aware”, with improved connection tools and detections. It will have the ability to detect which network you’re in and switch your settings and devices accordingly; With Live account, you can carry your IE settings and favorites with you; Gadget data caching; New Calculator, Paint, and Wordpad using WPF; install to desktop in 10 mins with only 1 reboot; instant streaming; better battery mileage, etc. All descriptions are scenario-based, so what will actually turn up is still yet to know.

Oh.. how could I miss this. A new boot screen does show up, finally. A full screen Vista-logon screen like boot screen with a beam scrolling across the whole screen near the bottom. Looks nice but reminds me of Win9x (well since XP we’ve been in the “dark”, so surprised to see such a bright boot screen)!
